March is B Corp Month, and we’re excited to spotlight five companies we admire that have earned B Corp Certification. Awarded by B Lab, this certification recognizes businesses that meet high standards for social and environmental impact, transparency, and accountability. Companies undergo a rigorous B Impact Assessment and must demonstrate strong performance, governance, and public disclosure to qualify.
For us, being a B Corp is about more than a label—it’s about choosing to put people, communities, and the environment at the center of how you do business. These five brands inspire us with the ways they integrate purpose into everyday products, from food to beauty and self-care.
1. Simek’s
Simek’s is a women-owned frozen food brand that focuses on simple, ready-to-heat meals made without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Its product line includes items like meatballs and entrées designed to offer convenience while maintaining ingredient quality.
The company integrates social and environmental impact into its business model. Through a partnership with Feeding America, each product purchased contributes to a meal donated within the local community. Simek’s also addresses packaging impact through a Plastic Neutral certification with rePurpose Global, funding the removal of ocean-bound plastic equivalent to its footprint. The company publishes an annual impact report and continues to build its approach around both product quality and responsible practices.
2. Amika
Amika is a hair care brand that integrates sustainability and social impact across its products and operations. Its bottles are made with 90 percent post-consumer recycled plastic, and the company offers refillable and bulk options to help reduce waste. Amika is Climate Neutral certified, has science-based emissions reduction targets, and has pledged to reach Net Zero by 2035, taking steps to decrease and offset energy usage through solar panels, efficient HVAC systems, and clean energy partnerships.
Water conservation is another key focus. The company monitors its water use in production and offices and supports The Nature Conservancy’s Mill Creek project to restore wetland flows for migratory birds and salmon. Ingredients are chosen with sustainability in mind, including certified organic and fair trade sea buckthorn sourced from the Tibetan Plateau. Amika also donates 1 percent of profits to initiatives that advance equity and opportunity in the beauty industry, reflecting its commitment to social as well as environmental impact.
3. Stumptown Coffee
Stumptown Coffee is committed to sourcing high-quality coffee while supporting the communities that produce it. Through Direct Trade relationships, the company pays quality premiums and maintains multi-year commitments to coffee producers, helping ensure fair compensation and long-term sustainability. Stumptown also supports origin-led projects, like composting initiatives in Peru, that address environmental challenges in coffee-growing regions.
The company applies the same care to its employees and operations, providing healthcare, training, and personal development opportunities while fostering an inclusive workplace. Sustainability is integrated across cafés, roasteries, and manufacturing facilities, with initiatives to reduce energy and water use, minimize waste, and recycle materials—like donating burlap coffee bags to community gardens and installing regenerative thermal oxidizers to cut roasting emissions. Stumptown publishes an annual Sustainability and Impact Report to track progress across these areas.
4. GoodPop
GoodPop makes frozen treats and sparkling beverages from real fruit, organic and nonGMO ingredients, partnering with suppliers that uphold fair pay, safe working conditions, and ethical sourcing. Many suppliers are chosen not just for quality but for the positive community impact they create—for example, sourcing mangos from a Colombian partner that employs refugees, offering stable work and opportunities for people rebuilding their lives.
Environmental impact is central to GoodPop’s operations. Through its partnership with 4ocean, the company has helped remove more than 500,000 pounds of plastic from oceans, rivers, and coastlines, funding one pound of cleanup for every pound used in packaging. The Pledge Good Foundation amplifies its social impact through support for nonprofit partners, volunteer events, and programs like Good Deeds Day, which mobilize thousands of volunteers in communities across the country.
5. EO Products
EO Products crafts everyday self-care with sustainability at its core. Ingredients, from herbs and flowers to fruit, are thoughtfully sourced with a preference for organic, non-GMO, and wildcrafted materials. Manufacturing runs on 100 percent renewable energy, split between wind and solar, and uses energy-saving measures such as LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, and zero-emission electric forklifts. EO follows a zero-waste approach, diverting nearly all waste from landfills and reducing virgin plastic wherever possible. Its six-step water purification process ensures product quality while limiting the need for preservatives. Packaging is primarily recycled, and initiatives like donated rainwater barrels extend environmental impact to the local community.
EO also engages in policy advocacy to strengthen transparency and standards across the personal care industry. The brand supports nonprofits including The Marine Mammal Center, Slide Ranch, and Conscious Kitchen while pushing for regulations that protect consumers and promote sustainable practices in the sector.
